Welcome to Scangetools (the “Site,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website and tools, including the QR Scanner Online and QR Code Generator Online (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

Use of the Services

Our Services allow you to:

  • Scan QR codes using your device’s camera or by uploading an image
  • Generate custom QR codes, including options for logos, colors, and various file formats

You may use the Services for personal, educational, or business purposes, free of charge, subject to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Acceptable Use

When using the Services, you agree not to:

  • Generate or scan QR codes for any unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious purpose, including phishing, malware distribution, or spreading misinformation
  • Use the Services to infringe on the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers, or any connected systems
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Services in a way that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure
  • Upload or generate content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the Services for anyone who violates these Terms.

Content You Provide

Any content you scan or generate through the Services (such as URLs, text, WiFi credentials, contact details, or uploaded logos) remains your responsibility. We do not review, endorse, or verify the accuracy or legality of content you input, scan, or generate.

Where our Services process content locally in your browser rather than on our servers, we do not retain copies of that content, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Static vs. Dynamic QR Codes

QR codes generated through our free tool are static, meaning the encoded content is permanently embedded in the code itself. Once generated, the content cannot be edited or updated without creating a new code. We are not responsible for outdated, broken, or incorrect links or information embedded in QR codes you have generated or printed.

Third-Party Links and Content

QR codes you scan using our Services may direct you to third-party websites, applications, or content that we do not control and are not responsible for. We encourage you to review the destination of any scanned QR code before entering personal or sensitive information, and to exercise the same caution you would with any unfamiliar link. Intellectual Property

The Site, including its design, logo, text, graphics, and underlying code, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the Site without our prior written permission, except for QR codes you generate for your own use, which are yours to use freely.

No Warranty

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do our best to keep the QR Scanner and QR Code Generator accurate and reliable, but we do not guarantee that:

  • The Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
  • Every QR code will scan or generate successfully under all conditions (e.g., damaged, low-quality, or heavily styled codes)
  • Any QR code generated will remain functional indefinitely, particularly where the underlying linked content later changes or is removed

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scangetools and its owners, operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or business opportunity, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Services.

Your use of the Services is at your own risk, and this includes any reliance on QR codes scanned or generated through the Site.

Advertising

The Site does not currently display third-party advertisements. We may introduce advertising in the future to help support the cost of providing free tools. If advertising is introduced, we will update our Privacy Policy and other applicable policies as needed. We do not control the content of third-party advertisements and are not responsible for the products, services, or claims made by advertisers.

Changes to the Services or Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. The “Last Updated” date above reflects the most recent version.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
